Seminar on the management of social conflicts takes place at the Academy

From June 5 to 9, 2017, at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign experts Alan Hudson (Great Britain) and Tatyana Dronzina (Bulgaria) conduct a upgrading qualification seminar on the topic “Social conflicts. Conflict management”.

Civil Servants of the Presidential Administration, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service affairs and Anti-corruption, akims and deputy akims of regions district and cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan participate in the seminar.

The seminar aim is acquisition of tools and skills in conflict management.

Alan Hudson is the Director of Leadership and Public Policy Programs at Oxford University. He develops public policy and public administration curricula that have already trained more than 5,000 civil servants and entrepreneurs of the People’s Republic of China at the municipal, provincial, and national levels, including various ministries. A. Hudson conducted much training in Kazakhstan, in Singapore, in Sweden, in Spain, in Hong Kong, in the USA, in Russia, in Latin America, in India and in several other countries. And also, conducted a research project to study the impact of EXPO-2010 on urbanization and urban life in Shanghai.

Tatiana Dronzina is Professor of Political Science at St. Sofia University. She has a rich pedagogical experience, conducted training seminars in Kazakhstan, the Dominican Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Spain, Italy. Tatiana is the author of such books as “Mediation”, “Foundations of Conflict Analysis”, “Female Face of Terrorism”, “Conflict Resolution: Trends and Tools”. The owner of the jubilee gold medal “20 Years of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan” 2015.

The following issues will be considered during the seminar: The changing form of social conflicts, the essence and problems of leadership in the context of social conflicts, mediation as a means of non-violent conflict resolution, types of conflicts in Kazakhstan: intercultural, labor, terrorism and radicalization, etc.

After the end of the seminar it is expected that civil servants will master the basic tools and skills in the regulation and management of social conflicts.
