An expert meeting on the dialogue platform KyzmetTalks

An expert meeting devoted to discussing audit and monitoring the effectiveness of the results of state bodies’ activities was held within the framework of the #KyzmetTalks dialogue platform

Among the participants of the discussion were Natalia Godunova, Chairman of the Accounts Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulzhan Karagusova, Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Mikhail Bortnik, Senator and member of the Committee for Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the Senate of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as Arman Bekturova, Director of the Department of accounting and audit methodologies of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the key aspects and the main directions of improving the state audit, financial control and the system for evaluating the effectiveness of government agencies were examined.

In her speech Natalia Godunova spoke about the activities of the Accounts Committee, in particular about new approaches to external state audit, within which it identifies shortcomings that impede the effective implementation of the tasks and the joint work is underway to improve the performance of the audited object and improve the economic and social effect.

Gulzhan Karagusova  focused on the ideology and the proposed measures on 91, 92 and 93 steps of the Nations’ Plan. Topical questions were raised about how the state audit and assessment of the effectiveness of state bodies should be conducted, what problems exist in these areas and the role of civil servants in solving these problems.

In his turn Mikhail Bortnik talked about what MPs are focusing on when considering draft budgets and reports on their execution.

Thus, the experts discussed the current challenges facing the state audit bodies and new approaches to the state external audit.
