The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for mutual cooperation in the framework of the GIZ project in Kazakhstan “The Ecosystem Approach for Adaptation to Climate Change in the High Mountain Regions of Central Asia”.
The project is being implemented by GIZ jointly with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and involves an analysis of the possibilities for using information on climate change in various sectors of the economy. The Academy expressed its willingness to provide expert support to the project, as well as support in conducting trainings on this topic for interested civil servants of Kazakhstan in the future.
This project will help raise the awareness of the public, especially civil servants, on the economic importance of climate change and take appropriate measures when developing policies.
