Global governance: resources and limits of legitimacy

It is increasingly obvious in recent years that the global relationship system is entering a new phase of development. We are witnessing the changes in the structure of geopolitical, geo-economic, international and transnational relations. At the same time, globalization, in the meaning it carried at the end of the 20th century, is only an element of reformatting a complex and changing picture of interstate and inter-economic ties.

Today, a recognized expert in the field of global studies, a professor at the School of Global Studies at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), Dr. Jan Aart Scholte, helped graduate students of the Academy to get insights on the matters of global governance.

Dr. Scholte is the author of several books on globalization. His new book «Legitimacy in Global Governance: Sources, Processes and Consequences» was published last year. His lecture for undergraduates of the Academy was dedicated to the same topic. Copies of the book “Legitimacy in Global Governance: Sources, Processes and Consequences” were given by Dr. Scholte to the library of the Academy.
