Civil servants discuss the concept of smart city

In the period from 15th to 17th November, 2017 in Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is held a seminar on a topic “Innovations in the city management. Smart-city projects implementation” with foreign experts U.Batayev and B.Cohen.

Vladimir Bataev (Netherlands) – an expert on innovation in smart and circular cities Zaz Ventures. Has experience working with municipalities, architectural, urban design companies and innovative companies in Belarus, Finland, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain and other countries for various projects.

Boyd Cohen (USA) – Deputy Director for Science, Professor at the EADA Business School, Adviser to the City Hall of Barcelona on the development of alternative start-ups in economics and the founder of Urban Innova. He is on the advisory board of DLab, Mobile World Congress, in the Smart Cities Council.

Representatives of Astana Innovations and Development Center of Almaty addressed the participants on the first day of the seminar, they acquainted the audience with the concept of a smart city and with ongoing projects in Astana and Almaty.

The concepts of Smart Cities, urban development problems, smart cities development strategies, best practices of European and Asian smart cities and others will be considered in the framework of training.

Civil Servants from central and local state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan participate at the seminar.

After the seminar, listeners will be awarded certificates.
