Today the Academy visited representatives of the European Union (EU) in Kazakhstan. The rector of the Academy Yerlan Abil told the guests about the main directions of the Academy’s activities, strategic development priorities and the organizational structure of the Academy.
The conversation continued the Vice-Rector Aigul Kosherbayeva, she talked about the research potential and interests of the Academy.
Head of the International Partnership Sector Zhanyl Bekmurzaeva said in detail about cooperation of the Academy with foreign partners and collaboration with EU state members, as well as participation in EU-funded projects.
Today the EU is the largest foreign investor and trading partner of Kazakhstan. Also the EU invests in projects for youth, education, research and civil society development.
Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan – Johannes Stenbaek Madsen spoke about the implementation of EU projects in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Central Asia.
He showed interest in the business processes of interaction between the Academy and it’s regional branches, and also noted the successful experience of the Academy in decentralization and the organization of educational courses for retraining civil servants of local government.
During the meeting also discussed assistance in establishing communication with European universities in the field of public administration for the organization of academic mobility within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, joint research projects, co-organizing events such as conferences, professional dialogue platforms, etc.
This orientation meeting gave opportunity to a common understanding of the mission and vision of Academy and an understanding way to further cooperation. The Academy underlines the importance of the relationship between the European Union and appreciate for the visit.
