ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education (CBHE) Developing services for Individuals with Disabilities [DECIDE] Final Conference, 23rd-27th 2022

The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been participating in the Erasmus+ program of the European Union (Development of Services for Persons with Disabilities (DECIDE)) in partnership with the Transylvanian University in Brasov, Romania, and with other foreign and Kazakh partners since 2019.

The working group of the DECIDE project held its final conference from October 23 to October 27, 2022 at the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service. The meeting was held in a hybrid format with the following participants: Technical University of Dresden (Germany), Transylvania University of Brasov (Romania), Middlesex University (UK), Limerick Institute of Technology (Ireland), University of Crete (Greece), Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service (Uzbekistan), Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Uzbekistan), Karakalpak State University (Uzbekistan), Mushtoq Ko’zlar Society of Social Mutual Aid of Disabled Children (Uzbekistan), Khujand State University named after B. Gafurov (Tajikistan), Kulob Institute of Technology and Innovation Management (Tajikistan), Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan (Tajikistan), Public Organization of Parents with Children with Disabilities and Specialists “Rushdi Inclusia” (Tajikistan).

From Kazakhstan, four universities were represented: Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University, Al Farabi Kazakh National University, A. Baitursynov Kostanay Regional University and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Vice Rector for Corporate and Financial Activities Yerkin Dussipov and Acting Head of the International Partnership Department Aikyz Bauyrzhankyzy took part in the conference on behalf of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The partners presented a report on the work done within the framework of the project, discussed the budget, the platform of the project.As a result of the conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the participants, and further ways of cooperation were determined. It needs to be noted that DECIDE aims to foster the rights of individuals with special needs to access education and enjoy the right of participation in everyday society, to combat discrimination of the individuals with special needs by instilling awareness and acceptance in society as in line with Bologna Process and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
