September 19, 2018 in the Zhambyl region in the branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan a unique educational project – “Transformation of approaches to learning in the context of the Zhambyl region local government development” seminar was launched.
Within three days mayors of cities, villages, rural districts of Zhambyl region will study modern trends in government processes, including the basics of project management, the features of the local budget formation and management of communal property, issues of strategic management and leadership, and the main directions of state policy on combating corruption.
The educational project is jointly implemented with the council of Zhambyl region and the department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption in Zhambyl region.
The opening of the seminar was held within the framework of the Regional Workshop on “Professionalization as a Key Factor of Civil Service Development: a Regional Context” in the city of Taraz with the participation of the Zhambyl region mayor Askar Myrzakhmetov and the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption Alik Shpekbayev.
During Alik Shpekbayev’s visit to Zhambyl region, a solemn ceremony of opening a new branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held.
The branch of the Academy was opened in Taraz as part of the Unified System of Education for Civil Servants creation and is intended to become a center for the professional development of civil servants in the region.
On average, more than 1200 employees of state bodies of the region will be retrained and upgraded annually in the branch office of the Academy. Also, it is going to provide consulting services on application of the project management in public administration. For thus, all the necessary infrastructure and teaching potential is provided.
In the future, with the involvement of practitioners in the Zhambyl region, the branch will develop and implement practical programs for training civil servants on issues of transformational leadership, strategic and project management, change management, and analysis of big data.
