On October 25th, 2017 the delegation of the Senior Expert Service (SES) of the Federal Republic of Germany, headed by the representative of the SES head office, the coordinator of projects in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, — Yana Tikhomirova paid visit to the Academy.
The purpose of the meeting was to summarize the results of joint projects put into practice within two years, and to discuss issues of further cooperation.
Vice-Rector of the Academy Kosherbayeva Aigul Bedelbayevna has told partners about the innovations that are introduced in the Academy, namely about the updated academic programs, the conditions for admission to the Academy given that the English language examination of APTIS has to be provided, the transfer of the regional education training centers to the Academy, and the responsibility of broadcasting the experience of instructing personnel in the regions that the Academy has.
The parties discussed projects jointly implemented since 2015. In total, there were 7 projects carried through, and within the framework which 7 German experts provided trainings, seminars and consultations for the Academy staff at no charge. For each expert, the duration of stay at the Academy is 3 weeks. All programs were successfully performed and contributed to the development of the institutional and human capital of the Academy.

SES experts work voluntarily, supporting educational organizations by improving the learning process and upgrading the qualifications of the faculty. There are more than 10,000 senior experts in the SES database.
From 2015 up till September 2017, the following experts conducted trainings at the Academy:
• Ilka Dorothea Bichbeimer, an expert in the field of English learning methodology conducted a ten day long training for teachers of the Institute of Diplomacy;
• Alexander von Fraihold, an expert in higher education, the formerrector of the Mosbach Professional Academy, has conducted the following methodological seminars for the teaching staff of the Academy: “Application of interactive teaching methods in the educational process”, “Development of international master programs”, “Application of innovative interactive methods in the training of public officials “;
• Hans Johann Schmidt, an expert in the field of diplomatic service, the former Ambassador of Germany to Armenia, the former head of the OSCE Office in Minsk, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Almaty, held 2 methodical seminars for the teaching staff of the Institute of Diplomacy, 2 mentor hours on the topics of “Eurasian Union: Problems and Prospects for Development” and “Features of the modern diplomatic service of Germany and the profession of a diplomat”, as well as seminars for doctoral students on the art of presentation, writing of analytical notes;
• Gerd Homberg, an expert in the field of activities’ informatization through the use of the Moodle system;
• Wolfgang Moser, an expert in international relations, has given lectures for the Institute of Diplomacy master students;
• Manfred Blumenschein, an expert in the field of anti-corruption policy development, has conducted a three-day seminar for the Academy and the Agency staff on the topic of “The main aspects of countering corruption”. A round table for the discussion of “Formation of the anti-corruption consciousness in society” was organized during that time; he also has given a week-long consultation to theScientific and Analytical Center for the Study of Anti-Corruption Issues.
Both parties have agreed on further partnership development and implementation of joint projects in 2018.
