Professional development – guarantee of prosperous future!

The Academy of Public Administration held a meeting to discuss the State of the Nation Address of the President N.A. Nazarbayev

Growing Welfare of Kazakh Citizens: Increase in Income and Quality of Life”, and participants discussed the main issues of the country’s socio-economic development and the tasks for further development of population’s welfare.  

The Rector of the Academy Fatima Zhakypova elaborated on the issues outlined in the Presidential Address, as well as she underlined the activities and projects to be carried out in its course. In addition, she informed the participants that the work on the instruction of the President to the Academy of Public Administration together with the Nazarbayev University to develop a “Brand-new Leader” programme and special retraining courses when appointing to senior positions has already started at the Academy. It is also worth noting that Fatima Zhakypova took part in the highest level meeting held in Akorda, which released the Address of the Head of State.

Furthermore, during the meeting, the speakers stressed the importance of the Address for the Academy, underlining that professional development is a key component for the formation of the state administration focused on the needs of citizens.

“We have started to work on the given task from the moment of Address’s release. Moreover, we identified what subjects will be taught in the program “Brand-new Leader”. This was reported by the Director of the Institute of Professional Development of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan Margarita Kadyrova. According to her, to date, the content of the program of professional education to be based in the Academy and Nazarbayev University has been prepared.

“Certainly, by the implementation of this program, we will make a new qualitative leap in the creation of an innovative state administration. The Address of the Head of State has wide support among the population. Our task is to quickly achieve these tasks,” said Associate Professor of the Institute of Management Bauyrzhan Zhaubassov.

At the meeting Professor of the Institute of Diplomacy Tuleutay Suleymenov elaborated on the “Foreign policy aspects of the Address”, and Professor of the National School of Public Policy Anar Yessengeldina gave a speech on the topic “New requirements to civil servants”.

A master student of the National School of Public Policy Arnur Sartov noted that in the Address the President paid special attention to modern trends that are relevant today. “These are big data, the blockchain, Internet of things, artificial intelligence, new materials, etc. Today, the Academy of Public Administration carries out such disciplines in full. To achieve the goals and objectives set for the society and the state, appropriate measures are being taken,” he concluded the meeting.
