Strong basis for partnership: Emirates Diplomatic Academy and Academy of Public Administration under the President of the RK

Today, the United Arab Emirates is well known for its Ministries of happiness and tolerance which are headed by female ministers. Moreover, the planning horizon of the UAE government extends to 2117, when they are planning to establish the first inhabitable human settlement on Mars by 2117. This is preceded by several strategic milestones associated with the change and improvement of all society spheres.

Last year Kazakhstan joined the Global Happiness Coalition, established in Dubai, along with six more countries. The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the World Government Summit in 2019.

We are interested in all innovations and technologies in the field of state management, as well as approaches to the preparation of a new generation of public servants.

On May 21, a meeting between management personnel of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (APA) and Dr. Muhamad Olimat, Professor of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA) was devoted to these and other issues.

Dr. Muhamad Olimat is a recognized expert in the Emirates in the field of international relations and regional studies. Specializing also in the study of Central Asia, Professor Olimat has a particular interest in stimulation the cooperation of the two academies.

Since 2017, Emirates Diplomatic Academy is a partner of the Institute of Diplomacy of the APA. After views exchange with the APA Rector, Mr. Altair Akhmetov and the participants of the meeting, areas of mutual interest were found in academic and research fields and professional training. It should be noted separately that in 2020, Emirates Diplomatic Academy will launch international Master Program “Humanitarian Aid & International Development”, and Master students of the Institute of Diplomacy will be able to receive full scholarship. There are a number of other events of mutual interest. We will jointly explore future directions of co-operation – there is a strong basis for partnership.
