The Admission to the Academy is in Progress

Today, on 10 August 2017 the examination commissions on academic programs have started their work at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The next few days the competent members of the commissions, including representatives of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Executive Secretaries of the Ministries (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health), the akims of Astana and the rural district of Rodina of Akmola region, the directors of the departments of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption, the secretary of the Maslikhat of Astana, Deputy chairmen of Committees of the Ministry of National Economy, international organizations (EU, UN), embassies of foreign states (Austria), the corporate sector (PPP Center, the National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna”), foreign partner-universities have to find out which of civil servants will take their places in the ranks of masters and doctoral students of the Academy.

On the first day, 38 applicants who scored the threshold level for a foreign language were interviewed with the solution of situational tasks – cases. This approach, unlike previous tests, will reveal their personal and professional competencies for successful study at the Academy.

Before the interview, according to the order of admission, the applicants prepared essays: motivational and on a given topic, which were evaluated by the experts of the Academy. In addition, they passed the international test for knowledge of English language – APTIS, conducted by the British Council.

For reference:
This year about 320 applicants participated in the competition for the award of an educational grant. A total of 120 places for master and 12 places for doctoral studies were allocated for the professional development of civil servants. At the same time, the contest for 1 place averaged 2.4 people, and for individual programs: 4 people for 1 place on the program of the master’s program “State Policy”, 3 people 1 place in the Master’s program “Economics” and 4 people for 1 place Doctoral program “Public Administration”.
In addition to Kazakh civil servants, civil servants from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia expressed their desire to study at the Academy.
