decomposition was made in the form of dividing the system into subsystems, in
which each subsystem describes individual indicators of the sustainability of the
development of the country’s light industry. At this stage allowing to achieve the
necessary degree of detail to comply with the principle of reliability.
The scientific novelty is as follows:
1. Based on the study of sustainable development strategies in world practice,
as well as identifying the problems of ensuring sustainable development and the
driving forces of the market for a sustainable economy, the target results of a
sustainable industry have been determined.
2. The main subsystem of the industry has been defined, which includes private
indicators (structural, production, economic, social and environmental sustainability).
3. Based on the study of foreign experience in the development and support of
light industry, comparative parameters for the sustainability of the development of
light industry in different countries are presented, strategic directions for the
development of light industry are identified and structured based on a SWOT analysis
of the industry.
4. A model of institutional support for the sustainable development of light
industry enterprises in Kazakhstan is proposed based on the developed algorithm for
the implementation of strategic directions for the development of light industry.
5. Based on an assessment of the key areas of sustainable development of light
industry in Kazakhstan, as well as developed models of the process of developing a
strategy for the sustainable development of the industry and the transition of light
industry enterprises in the Republic of Kazakhstan to the sustainable development
model, a mechanism for implementing the strategy for the sustainable development
of light industry on the basis of public-private partnership is proposed.

Provisions for the defense:
1. Target results of a sustainable industry, including improved business
sustainability indicators, sustainable business clusters created, sustainable industry
production capacity, improved sustainability of products manufactured in the
industry, improved local demand for industry products, sustainable artificial
environment, business support, infrastructure, and the market image of the industry.
2. Industry subsystem, which includes private indicators (structural,
production, economic, social and environmental sustainability).
3. Strategic directions for sustainable development of light industry.
4. Model of institutional support for sustainable development of light industry
enterprises in Kazakhstan, as well as an algorithm for implementing its strategic
directions.

light industry on the basis of public-private partnership.
Theoretical and practical significance of the research.
The theoretical significance of the research lies in the fact that the theoretical
principles obtained during the research complement and develop domestic science in
the field of sustainable development of industries. The practical significance lies in
the development of an assessment methodology, mechanism and tools for ensuring
sustainable development, the use of which will make it possible at the state, regional
